Landscapes, nature and culture traditional coffee maker, Ecozarzales offers you an experience of learning the culture of coffee, the knowledge of the territory of Copacabana of its birds, its plants and its water as a key element in this territory. Very natural country atmosphere and entertaining people where you can see places that will excite you. The route has a minimum duration of 6 hours, trekking of grade 2, the maximum quota is of 10 people per route, the transport is in sure and comfortable cars, the meeting point is the main park of Copacabana. The tour is operated by Biocahuana Travel agency and can be done in the morning or afternoon schedules includes hydration, energizing, lunch, transportation, traveling policy, souvenir, professional guidance in Spanish or English. Pre-registration is required the day before.
The tour begins in the Main Park of Copacabana at 8:00 am there the tourists are welcomed and invited to make a group presentation. There is an introduction of the sites to visit in their respective paths and then an introduction is made of the history of Copacabana, its discovery, its park, La Asunción Church, the church of San Juan de la Tasajera, the sanctuary of the Cross of the Path The Cabuyal as well as other anecdotes and personages of the municipality.
At 8:40 am, tourists are picked up for the first transport, which goes from the main park of the municipality to the Veta la Veta in the western sector of the municipality to the El Caturral farm, a journey of about 15 minutes; without first delivering the souvenirs and food of each of the attendees.
At 9:00 am, the El Caturral farm starts a traditional coffee farm where you can learn about Colombian and Castillo coffee crops: this farm has a shady coffee plantation with walnut trees, guamos and cedars, which It shows nostalgically how the Caturro coffee was grown many years ago and why the farm is called El Caturral when it has historically grown this kind of coffee. On your farm you can also visit artisanal facilities for the benefit of coffee as pulpers, dryers, sorters and a storage area that help explain the coffee process. Finally, there is an experience with the owners of the farm to have a coffee of the property and learn about some techniques to prepare coffee, recognition of different varieties, grinding and tasting a cup of coffee.
At 9:40 am visitors are collected at the exit of the El Caturral farm and it is advanced until reaching another territory of the Veta la Veta called Veta Pinar, a steep territory but with an arrival to a plain at approximately 10:10 am; there visitors can enjoy hiking one degree (1) with beautiful scenery and great natural content, reading the territory with tree species and birds, this hiking lasts between one (1) hour and an hour and a half in the which visit areas such as Los Aguacales stream, La Corraleja, the rocks sector and the tangaras path, a very representative bird in this territory.
At 1:00 p.m., you will reach the AVEZA aqueduct Corporation, an unconventional aqueduct where you can learn in a didactic way the operation of a water treatment plant as well as your collection of arboretum trees with 120 native tree species. the great variety of birds, their fish lakes, their community projects and of course their water of great quality and flavor.
At 2:00 p.m., the route at the AVEZA aqueduct is finished and you walk to a place known as La Quesera, where the vehicle will pick up the passengers, taking them to the Copacabana Main Park and ending the tour there at 2: 30pm approximately.
