We will be birding here all the day exploring Paramo and moorland ecosystems at a altitude of aproximadly 2800-3400m.s.n.m. in searching for: Hummingbirds, Coppery-bellied Puffleg, Bronze-tailed Thornbill, Glowing Puffleg, Longuemare´s Sunangel, Blue throated Starfrontlet, Tyrian Metaltail, Sword-billed hummingbird, Mountain Velvetbreast, Great sapphirewing.
Endemic Birds: Silvery-throated Spinetail, Green-bearded Helmetcrest.
Near-Endemic Birds: Blue-throated Starfrontlet, Matorral Tapaculo, Golden-faced Whitestart, Coopery-bellied Puffleg and Black-billed Mountain-Toucan.

Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your Bogota hotel around 4.30am. Traveling by private vehicle, set out to explore one of the paramos (alpine tundra ecosystems) around Bogota, admiring the wild scenery as you wind through the Colombian Andes.
Accompanied by an expert guide, you’ll visit either Sumapaz, Chingaza, Tablazo y Verjón, or Cruz Verde (only one páramo will be visited on the tour), depending on the season and your personal preferences, where you’ll have the chance to spot an incredible variety of birds. After tucking into a light breakfast (included) on arrival, follow your guide along the bird-watching trails, looking out for buzzards, thistletails, tanager, and many other species. Lagunas de Siecha is an area once populated by Muiscas before the Colonial times, Siecha meaning “Man of Water” in their language. Now part of Chingaza National Natural Park, you will get to know the páramo ecosystem and a natural reserve.
On this tour, you will start your day with a hotel pick-up where you will be taken to the meeting point to meet your professional bilingual guide who will join you throughout the day. As soon as you arrive enjoy a delicious morning snack before you start the mountain hike.
The hike will last about two hours depending on your rhythm, and it’s possible that you see some of the wonderful variety of flora and fauna of this magnificent place such as spectacled bears, deer, condors, etc. For flora, you will see mostly Frailejones, the most iconic plant of the P´aramo.
As soon as you finish the hike, have a wonderful lunch and get the chance to rest for a while before you start fishing. You may keep your catch of the day which has a cost of 8,500 Colombian Pesos per pound (at your own expense). The type of fish you will find in these lagoons is the Rainbow Trout. After finishing the activity have a nice afternoon snack before driving back to Bogotá. You’ll arrive at the city around 7:30 pm.
